Pharex hosts POGS’ 2011 Midyear Convention
Cagayan De Oro City
Adventure and fun summed up the 2011 Midyear Convention of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) in Cagayan de Oro city.
With the theme, “POGS: Transcending Culture and Tradition,” the event was held to encourage society members to renew their commitment to public health and strengthening the bond among its members.
The organizing committee, led by convention chair Dr. Reynaldo Chu, prepared a program that promoted women’s reproductive health, but also unparalleled adventure that can only be experienced in Region 10’s signature attractions.
Joining POGS at this fun-filled event was Lenchie Orayani, product manager of Pharex HealthCorp.
“We are one with POGS in spreading the importance of boosting women’s reproductive health and wellbeing. This event celebrates both Pharex’s and POGS’ commitment to giving Filipino women high-quality yet affordable care and ensure their overall health,” said Orayani.
“Lahutay Kagay-An” or Survival of FITtest was an action-packed game for the participants featuring a unique combination of the popular reality TV shows, “Amazing Race” and “Survivor.”
It was a chance to let loose and enjoy for the doctors who participated in the challenge, who also saw the games as a good way to foster camaraderie and goodwill among their comrades in the medical profession.
Participants were grouped into seven teams with two members from each team competing in the games. Cheers from different camps reverberated in the air as they showed their support to the teams that represented their respective chapters. Even the POGS regional directors joined in the fun and cheered the teams on!
Composed of team colors – Rusty Orange, Turquoise, Yellow, Gray, Orange, Red, and Pine – the teams participated in eight different challenges that took them to different areas in Cagayan de Oro City. With games that allowed them to solve puzzles, free themselves from handcuffs, race in the pool like dolphins, solve trivia questions like a pro, traverse single cable using a hand rope, and transport themselves with self-made rafts, it was both the thrill of the challenges and the experience of touring the different places of the city for the very first time that added fun and excitement to the whole event.
After the exhausting yet fun challenges, participants in the games along with members and guests, convened at Café Laguna for the Fellowship Night and awarding of the winning teams. First place finishers went home with P20,000 while second place winners received P10,000.Overall it was the chance to get together and strengthen their bond as an organization as well as the unwavering support of partners that made the POGS event truly memorable and another event to look forward to next year.
