A Vampire-Themed Party for Interns from Pharex

PHAREX PR Department
January 4, 2010

Medical interns traded their scalpels and scrubs for dancing shoes and vampy outfits during a night of fun, entertainment and sharing knowledge at Pharex HealthCorp's Grand Interns Night held recently at the Le Pavillon.

"This celebration gives our interns the opportunity not only to have fun but also to empower themselves as future doctors, as Pharex is committed to educate, enlighten and guide our young interns to become our good partners in providing better healthcare for Filipinos," said Tomas Marcelo Agana III, president and chief executive officer of Pharex HealthCorp.

NOTABLE STARS:     Pharex Chairman of the Board Manuel J. Salazar looks on; Upper Right (From left to right) Gab Valenciano, Ms. Mia Pascual-Cenzon, DSCC Director and Jonathan Muli; Lower Right (From left to right) Dr. Winnie Siao, Jose Augusto Pascual, VP for Administration and Assistance Treasurer of Pascuallab, Beau Agana, President and CEO of Pharex HealthCorp and Dr. Camilo Roa.

Also on hand to welcome guests were Pascuallab executives, Design Services and Corporate Communications Director Anna Maria Lourdes Pascual-Cenzon, Vice- president for Administration and Assistance Treasurer of Pascuallab, Jose Augusto Pascual, Pharex HealthCorp Chairman of the Board, Manuel Salazar and Pharex HealthCorp President and CEO, Tomas Marcelo G. Agana III.

Pharex made the gathering even more exciting with a New Moon-themed party, which had them dressing up in fashionable vampire costumes. The venue mirrored the "vampirific" mood of the occasion, with its dark and mysterious ambiance, highlighted by a big crescent moon on center stage, which set the mood for a fabulous, fun-filled night.

Hosted by Y Speak's Bianca Gonzalez, TJ Manotoc, Atom Araullo, Mo Twister, and Xian Lim, the event opened with a dance medley of Michael Jackson's famous hits by ASAP '09s dance floor jock Gab Valenciano. Guests were also entertained by exciting performances by Kapamilya stars Jon Avila, Wendy Valdez, Cass Ponti, Niña Dolino, and Duncan Ramos, plus a special musical number from Sandwich.

Highlighting the event was the search for Alternative Pinoy Stars, where teams from the Philippine General Hospital, Chinese General Hospital, University of Perpetual Help-Biñan, AFP-V. Luna Memorial Hospital, Fort Bonifacio General Hospital, Medical City, Ospital ng Maynila, Far Eastern University, De La Salle University Cavite, and the Department of Health battled it out to showcase out-of-the-box performances.

Bagging the grand prize of P50,000 was defending champion De La Salle University Cavite, followed by Department of Health who went home with P20,000, and Fort Bonifacio who won P5,000.

Select interns also competed in alternative mini-debates, where they tried to outwit one another in wacky vampire-themed topics. Special awards and prizes were also given away to Early Pack of Wolves, the first group of 10 to arrive at the event; the Male and Female Stars of the Night; and the winners of the Team Chant contest, supporters and fans with the most unique and alternative chants.

Guests also enjoyed the special side events and treats like henna and glitter tattooing, roving magicians and fun photo booths, as well as freebies from event partners. Special prizes were also raffled off to lucky guests such as watches, cellphones, iPods, PSPs, laptops and gift certificates.

The Pharex Grand Interns Night truly celebrated the talent of our future physicians and gave them one "vampirific" night of fun and entertainment.
