Aging is a normal process of life. The obvious wrinkles and grayish-white hair is always a giveaway. It manifests in the whole body. The vital organs, cells, and living tissues may lose function in a fairly advanced age.
So while aging is inevitable, but slowing it down is not impossible. Here are some tips on how to attain a youthful aura.
- An anti-aging diet. Most people know that a healthy diet consists of fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy, healthy proteins, whole grains, and less salt. But food needs change when they grow a bit older. An additional intake of water, calcium (yogurt, etc.), fish loaded with Omega-3 (salmon, sardines, etc.), nuts (almonds, peanuts, cashews), and fiber-rich food (vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes) can help the digestive system digest faster. These are also good for the brain and heart as it can counter inflammation, support brain function, and lower blood pressure.
- A slow-aging exercise regimen. Adults mostly do exercise to keep down weight. But a study has shown that there are other ways to keep fit and slow down the effects of aging. If going to the gym isn’t your thing, regular high-intensity interval training (cycling, brisk treadmill walking, etc.) or aerobic exercises (swimming, jogging, dancing, cardio routines) can help keep the cells in your body younger. It is also a great way to maintain a healthier heart rate.
- A change of lifestyle. A healthy diet and regular exercise are not the only considerations for slow aging. Smoking can give one a variety of diseases from heart to lungs. Too much drinking can damage genes and give liver inflammation. Not getting enough sleep daily will not regenerate and repair tired cells. Too much exposure to the sun can age skin prematurely. So for the sake of good health, avoid or do in moderation what you can.
- Vitamins and supplements. An aging body’s slow response to nutrient absorption may result in possible early joint inflammation (arthritis), muscle pains, heart disease, and other chronic diseases. It is recommended to take vitamins and supplements such as turmeric or curcumin which has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It can also help reverse or delay old-age illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. It also reduces the risk of development of cardiovascular disease.

In 1987, Pharex then shifted to marketing and distributing generic products, while appointing Metro Drug as its exclusive brand distributor. This move proved to be timely because of the passing of the Generics Act of 1988. Many successful years followed, and in 2016, Pharex was acquired by RiteMED Inc. Even after more than 35 years in the industry, Pharex remains committed to empowering Filipino families by providing them with top-notch healthcare solutions.
