Pharex Health Corporation is a Philippine pharmaceutical company affiliated with RiteMED Inc., and part of United Laboratories, Inc. Pharex is short for Pharmaceutical Excellence. As its name strongly suggests, Pharex Health Corporation aims to deliver superior-quality products and services that can benefit lives here in the Philippines and all over the world.

Our History

Pharex was a subsidiary of Pascual Laboratories from its incorporation in 1973 until 2016 when it was acquired by RiteMED Inc.

1987

Pharex Health Corporation began as the exclusive marketing, sales, and distribution arm of Pascual Laboratories, Inc. in 1973. Initially, Pharex focused on bringing Pascual Lab's medicines to the market, ensuring their products reached customers across the Philippines. In 1987, a significant shift occurred when Pascual Lab appointed Metro Drug as the exclusive distributor of its branded medicines. This move allowed

1991

In 1991, PHAREX pioneered promoting the corporate-branded generics to medical practitioners. By the mid-1990’s, Pharex medicines became available in all major drugstores and pharmacies, including the major chain drugstores. By the turn of the millennium, more and more doctors have been convinced about the quality of Pharex medicines.

2000

Product lines continued to expand in the 2000’s, covering therapeutic categories like anti-infectives, cardio-metabolic, gastro-intestinal and vitamins. In 2006, the company launched the mass media campaign for Pharex B-Complex. In just a few years, the product became the No. 1 B-Complex brand in the market.

2021

Today, PHAREX continues to market a wide range of products manufactured by CGMP-certified suppliers both here and abroad. It is also moving towards wellness beyond pharmaceuticals as it has launched its first branded product, Sorexidine Gargle, to help relieve sore throat. It has also launched IntegrAid, a brand of science-led, specialized nutrient-based products for the total well-being of patients.

Armed with this belief, Pharex is expanding its scope from pharmaceuticals to a more holistic approach to health. The company's goal is to establish itself as a Pharma Nutrition Company known for offering reliable, high-quality, CGMP-manufactured products that support healthy aging and disease prevention, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for patients and consumers.

In 1987, Pharex then shifted to marketing and distributing generic products, while appointing Metro Drug as its exclusive brand distributor. This move proved to be timely because of the passing of the Generics Act of 1988. Many successful years followed, and in 2016, Pharex was acquired by RiteMED Inc. Even after more than 35 years in the industry, Pharex remains committed to empowering Filipino families by providing them with top-notch healthcare solutions.
