PHAREX was a subsidiary of Pascual Laboratories from its incorporation in 1973 until 2016 when it was acquired by RiteMED Inc.

It started as an exclusive marketing, sales and distribution arm of Pascual Lab. By 1987, as Pascual Lab appointed Metro Drug as exclusive distributor of brands, it also assigned PHAREX to market and distribute its generic products. The move was auspicious for soon after, the Generics Act of 1988 was enforced.

2000's

Product lines continued to expand in the 2000’s, covering therapeutic categories like anti-infectives, cardio-metabolic, gastro-intestinal and vitamins. In 2006, the company launched the mass media campaign for Pharex B-Complex. In just a few years, the product became the No. 1 B-Complex brand in the market.

In 1991, PHAREX pioneered promoting the corporate-branded generics to medical practitioners. By the mid-1990’s, Pharex medicines became available in all major drugstores and pharmacies, including the major chain drugstores. By the turn of the millennium, more and more doctors have been convinced about the quality of Pharex medicines.

Today, PHAREX continues to market a wide range of products manufactured by CGMP-certified suppliers both here and abroad. It is also moving towards wellness beyond pharmaceuticals as it has launched its first branded product, Sorexidine Gargle, to help relieve sore throat. It has also launched IntegrAid, a brand of science-led, specialized nutrient-based products for the total well-being of patients.
