Enzyplex®
Digestive health varies significantly from person to person. Some individuals experience occasional discomfort such as indigestion or dyspepsia, while others enjoy a relatively trouble-free digestive process. Regardless of where you fall on this spectrum, incorporating digestive enzymes into your routine can play a vital role in helping maintain optimal digestive function. Understanding Digestive Enzymes Digestive enzymes are proteins produced by the salivary glands, pancreas and highly specialized cells in the intestines.1
Amylase helps break down complex carbohydrates.2 On the other hand, Protease assists in breaking down proteins.3 Lastly, Lipase works hand in hand with bile to help break down fats into free fatty acids and glycerol.4,5 By facilitating the breakdown of nutrients, digestive enzymes help your body absorb essential vitamins and minerals.
Common Digestive Issues
Digestive problems such as dyspepsia (indigestion) and hyperacidity are common and can be caused by various factors including dietary choices, stress, and underlying health conditions.
Dyspepsia or indigestion typically manifests as bloating, discomfort, or nausea after eating.6,7 On the other hand, hyperacidity (acid reflux) can cause persistent or recurring burning pain in the chest caused by stomach acid traveling up towards the throat.8
Both conditions can impact your quality of life and hinder your ability to enjoy meals.
Choosing the Right Digestive Enzymes
Digestive enzyme supplements come in various formulations, each designed to address specific digestive issues. When selecting a supplement, consider the following:
- Look for products that contain a balanced mix of proteases, lipases, and amylases to address different types of food being eaten.
- Choose supplements from reputable brands that offer well-tested products.
- Consider your specific digestive health needs and consult with a healthcare professional if necessary to determine the most appropriate enzyme supplement for you.

The Main Ingredients of Digestive Enzymes + B Vitamins (Enzyplex®)
Digestive Enzymes + B Vitamins (Enzyplex®) contains Digestive Enzymes (amylase, protease and lipase). Aside from enzymes, Digestive Enzymes + B Vitamins (Enzyplex®) tablets also contain B-vitamins (B1, B2, B6 and B12) that are actively involved in the digestion process and metabolism.
Mahalagang Paalala: Ang Digestive Enzymes + B Vitamins (Enzyplex®) ay hindi gamot at hindi dapat gamiting panggamot sa anumang uri ng sakit.
The combination of digestive enzymes and B vitamins in Enzyplex may help with fat, protein, and carbohydrate breakdown, promote better digestion and metabolism, and address acute symptoms of dyspepsia.
The exact timing of relief of symptoms has not been fully established, but because Enzyplex contains enzymes which help digestion, patients can experience immediate relief of acute symptoms of functional dyspepsia especially when it is taken with meals. If symptoms persist or progress, it is
best to consult your doctor.
Patients should take one (1) tablet of Enzyplex once a day alongside meals, or as instructed by your doctor.
The tablet must be swallowed as a whole all at once. It should not be broken, crushed, or chewed. Furthermore, it’s also advised to avoid letting the tablet sit in the mouth for a long period of time. This is because pancreatin preparations cause irritation in the mouth and may result in formation of blisters and inflammation of the mouth.
Avoid taking more than the recommended dose of Enzyplex. If symptoms still persist, consult a doctor.

In 1987, Pharex then shifted to marketing and distributing generic products, while appointing Metro Drug as its exclusive brand distributor. This move proved to be timely because of the passing of the Generics Act of 1988. Many successful years followed, and in 2016, Pharex was acquired by RiteMED Inc. Even after more than 35 years in the industry, Pharex remains committed to empowering Filipino families by providing them with top-notch healthcare solutions.
